Water Buffalo Striploin Steak (Frozen) - Approx. 300g (0.66 LB.)
$16.99
Instructions:
-
Preparation: Remove the striploin steak from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This helps ensure even cooking.
-
Seasoning: Pat the steak dry with paper towels to remove any excess moisture. Season both sides generously with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Optionally, add minced garlic, rosemary, or thyme to enhance the flavor.
-
Preheat the Cooking Surface: Preheat a grill or skillet. For a grill, set it to high heat; for a skillet, use medium-high heat. Add a small amount of olive oil or butter to prevent sticking.
-
Searing: Place the striploin steak on the hot grill or in the skillet. Sear one side for about 3-4 minutes without moving it. This will create a nice sear and caramelization.
-
Flip and Sear: Flip the steak using tongs and sear the other side for another 3-4 minutes for medium-rare. Adjust the cooking time to your preferred level of doneness: 4-5 minutes per side for medium or 6-7 minutes per side for medium-well.
-
Check Doneness: Use a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the steak to check the doneness:
- 125°F (51°C) for rare
- 135°F (57°C) for medium-rare
- 145°F (63°C) for medium
- 155°F (68°C) for medium-well
- The steak's temperature will rise slightly after removing it from the heat due to carryover cooking.
-
Resting: Remove the striploin steak from the heat source and place it on a cutting board. Tent it loosely with aluminum foil and let it rest for about 5 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute, resulting in a more tender steak.
-
Slicing and Serving: After resting, slice the striploin steak against the grain (the lines you can see running through the meat) for maximum tenderness. Serve it with your choice of side dishes, such as roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad.
Enjoy your perfectly cooked 300g striploin steak!
