Triple Cord CSA Spring/Summer 2015
It takes a community of actors to grow a healthy food system. CSAs (community shared/supported agriculture) are a wonderful component. By committing to and paying up front for a "share" of the farm's production, you can get access to local organic produce at a great price and help the farmer secure their income for the season.
This is our fifth year partnering with Triple Cord CSA in Aylmer. For us, it's a great partnership as balanced production for a combined CSA and home delivery audience makes for a fantastic lineup of local product all season long. Pickups this year will again be happening on Thursdays between 4 and 7PM from our 629 Dundas Street location. In addition to the bountiful weekly boxes, we will have an ample selection of other local, organic and natural products from which to choose, including free range organic eggs, pasture raised meats, artisan water buffalo cheeses, and Arva flours.
For just 20 or 30 dollars a week, you are able to feed your family all of the produce they will need. As the seasons change, so to will the produce in the box. Expect lots of greens in early spring, with the addition of peppers and tomatoes and other heating loving crops in the summer, to hearty roots and squashes in the fall. It's a local cornucopia in every box. There are limited spots available on a first come basis, so signup today!

Frequently Asked Questions:
1) What happens if I don’t pick up my box?
At the end of each Thursday, we bring all uncollected boxes to the Unity Project, an emergency shelter and transitional housing option in the heart of Old East. There your box of goodies becomes hearty meals for residents.
2) What happens if I go on vacation?
Have a neighbour or friend pick up your box. Sometimes two families will split a box and coordinate their vacations on alternating weeks so that someone is always available to collect the box. If you aren’t able to make alternative arrangements, you can bask in the warm feeling of knowing that your weekly box has been turned into magnificent meals at the Unity Project.
3) What sort of produce can I expect to receive?
The contents of your CSA box will vary with the seasons. Early spring is the time for asparagus, spring lettuce, tender young spinach, and rhubarb. In the heart of summer, the box will be full of the heat loving plants of tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers. As fall approaches, the hardier cold loving crops like kale, swiss chard, and beets make their appearance, along with root crops. Interspersed throughout are delightful local surprises that last year included gooseberries, maple syrup, elderberries, and bergamot. It’s the makings of a local feast in a box every week!
4) Will I know what is in the box ahead of time?
In short, no. Diedrich and his family harvest the produce as it ripens and comes ready and just before filling your boxes. So, each week is a new surprise!
5) Is the produce organic?
Absolutely. The majority is sourced directly from the Reimer's certified organic farm, with the remainder from organic farms in the community.
6) Will you deliver my box?
Unfortunately, we can’t. Our delivery and market schedule prevents us from delivering the box.
