A radish that looks as ancient as its heritage, large with coarse black skin and nearly translucent white flesh. Its size and durability makes it an excellent storage crop and a great source of needed nutrients over the winter months. Black radish is a good source of vitamin C and B vitamins, and is thought to boost the immune system, stimulate the digestive system and detoxify the liver. With a pungent peppery flavour, black radish is often grated onto salads, sliced onto sandwiches, or even thinly sliced and used on a veggie platter.
