Where would we be without yellow onions? They are the constituent base for many dishes and are widely regarded as the all-purpose onion. If the mere thought of chopping onions makes your eyes well-up, stick the onion in the freezer for a few minutes prior to cutting, or peel and cut them under running water.
Onions are also a great storage crop. Properly cured, they will keep for several weeks in a cool dark pantry.
