Pfenning's Organic Farm
1209 Waterloo Street, New Hamburg, ON. N3A 1T1
The Pfenning's farm is nestled in a curve of the Nith River just outside New Hamburg, Ontario. The Pfenning family has been farming since the late 1600’s. When the family emigrated from Germany in 1981, they immediately started farming on the land where they are located to this day, nestled on a curve of the Nith River just outside New Hamburg, Ontario. Today, the farm is operated by Wolfgang and Ekkehard. With hard work and some luck, the next generation of Pfennings will be ready and able to join the family business in 5 to 10 years.
More than an excellent organic farm, the Pfennings think “local first” and focus on family and community building. From that starting point, they have developed excellent relationships with other organic producers and processors across the province and do much to store, pack, and distribute their goods as well. The Pfenning family have been integral to building and scaling Ontario's local organic food movement.
